because if your world doesn't stop to celebrate the life of a womanizer who made a few good speeches that makes you a racist

I get more pissed though when the university doesn't observe Veteran's Day

Both Labor Day and Memorial Day are Federal Holidays. I'm pretty sure nobody is in school those days.

One of the reason's is because a University has to have X amount of class days a year. By picking and choosing which 'holidays' get observed it allows for longer winter breaks and an overall shorter year for school. Some holidays are given by the State, and since most Universities are state institutions they have to close down on those days too.

Instead of starting early Aug and getting lots of little day's off, students at A&M get close to three weeks for winter break, and classes are pretty much over the last week of April.

A&M being the conservative school we are has to pretend to care about a Commie Womanizer who said a few good things, but basically riled up our nation during a time of total panic.

Last year Labor Day was Sept 3. Classes stared on Aug 27.

This year Labor day is Sept 1. Classes Start on Aug 25.

This is A&M's schedule from TAMU.edu. Everybody get Labor day off.

No need to fix that for me, winter break is correct. I celebrate Christmas, but you must remember that other religious holidays occur during that time.

You're a grad student. You shouldn't be getting any days off anyway.

I didn't, but I know for a fact that in 2006 Labor day was a TAMU system-wide holiday.

Speaking of grad students, I've only seen our lab's grad student once this week. Coincidentally, our boss has been gone most of the week, too.

I'm wondering when she's going to get canned...
