I need suggestions for the people that have it all. They love to travel. And the Houston Astros.

Wine Fridge (although this has nothing to do with travel or the 'Stros)

They've got a wine fridge.

For $500, I'll sell you all my Craig Biggio rookie cards (about 6 of them), my ticket to the game he hit his 3,000th at, and the ticket to his last game played.

I second the Wii. My parents both love it.

Do they have lots of money to travel?

If so, buy them a hotel voucher, or a show ticket to a city they'd like to go to or have been to and really enjoyed.

Also, you could look into buying them some sort of air voucher, where they don't have to pay for all of their flight fees.

I personally would go with buying them a fun show with dinner and drinks all paid for.

we got the folks a Garmin last year and they LOVE it.

Guys, do your folks really love the Wii? I am just wondering for next year.

They do have lots of money to travel.

Helping pay for part of their airfare is lame.

These are the type of people that will fly to NYC and back in a day for a show.

And they were in Vegas 2 weeks ago for Andea Bucelli (sp).

I don't even know how much they are.

They've got 4 season tickets to the Stros and 8 to the Texans.

I made a perfectly good suggestion...

Then their taste in sports is awful.

Try a weekend spa treatment and send em a basket with body chocolate and Kama Sutra oils.

Why do you feel the need to get them a $500 gift? Seems like you're making this hard on yourself.

I like the wine fridge suggestion. I saw a nice three-zoned one at a store the other day, I think each zone held 24 bottles, the whole thing was 7-7.5 feet tall, with nice wood trim.

why not just get them a case of wine?

it sounds like a donation to something might be a good idea. if they are filthy rich, why do they need a gift? that, or get them something sentimental like a photo album of the kids or something.

My parents already had a trip planned to New York, so my siblings and I gave them an AMEX gift card for them to use while there there.

It's funny that you mentioned this cause they're actually members of a wine club, and already have so much wine that they are giving us all they're getting.

Why don't you make a donation in their name to their favorite charity or something along those lines?

I think you should sort through all their pictures beginning with their dating...all the way to now and include all the usual memorable stuff but also just odds and ends pictures that look good or funny, ticket stubs or other keepsakes...have a DVD made so that it is easy to pop into the machine and take a memory trip.

If you are talented you could add music to fit the scenes or verbal commentary. If your parents have access to anything they want then something totally unexpected and from your heart would be great.

If you can't get this together by Christmas make a video clip explaining that this disc is worth one memory trip and you would like them to help you sort the pictures. Listen to what they say and how their expressions change as they describe all the events and locations. This will give all of you some together time to cherish forever, as well as in the production of a priceless gift.
