For those in Omaha now or those with previous experience, how has buying tickets right before a game been? Ticketmaster is outrageous right now

Was extremely easy in 2022 to buy tickets as you walk up. Scalpers have their phones and backup batteries ready to do deals.

You can easily get GA SRO tickets for $35 at the ticket counter near Gate 2.
And there are seats around the stadium you can sit in.
I believe season ticket holders for CWS attend some games and not others. So it leaves seats open.

Leaving Omaha today. Below was my strategy for buying tickets as a first timer. I didn't have luck with scalpers. Only talked to 2 of them but they didn't have good seats. With everything digital nowadays it was quick and easier to check the websites and buy there.

The sweet spot was morning of game up until 1hour before first pitch for us. I was only buying 2 tickets for each game and rolled the dice every time. Prices did drop the closer to game time but so did the inventory. Keep checking as new tickets get added last minute and prices drop the last hour.

Ticketmaster has the most inventory but also had luck with TickPick. I also checked StubHub, SeatGeek, and Gametime but didn't buy. Tickets priced low did sell quick. I can imagine the rest of the games will have more inventory with more teams getting knocked out and their fans leaving. Highly recommend club level for any day games. It was really nice being able to go inside a/c. Also there's a bar behind home plate in club level with a good view to watch game while inside. It is a more relaxed experience and wouldn't have enjoyed it if Aggies were playing. Would rather be down in lower level yelling.

Game 3: NC State vs Kentucky
Section 214 row 2 (club level)
Bought 20min before first pitch. $50/ea Ticketmaster

Game 4: A&M vs Florida
Section 115 row 25
Bought 1.5hrs before first pitch. $125/ea Ticketmaster

Game 6: Tennessee vs North Carolina
Section 116 row 20
Bought 30min after first pitch. Missed first 2 innings. $45/ea TickPick

Game 8: A&M vs Kentucky
Section 106 row 20
Bought 3 hours before first pitch $120/ea Ticketmaster

Awesome stuff, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! Just out of curiosity, how do you think it'll play out with a likely matchup of A&M and UT in the finals? Do you think the demand with those two schools will far out pace the tickets from people leaving early?

Holy cow, I'm looking at ticket prices for Saturday and the cheapest are around $300 and anything decent is over $700. What are the odds that those prices come down as it gets closer to game time?

Sure am. Watching this game and seeing empty seats everywhere has me feeling a little confident they'll come down a bit
