all you punks can watch the mighty Manchester United Red Devils roll over not only the EPL but also the Champions League as well. I see a treble on the horizon for the mighty lads at Old Trafford.

And, hopefully, play dead. I think Chelsea will probably finish second again this season, then take over the Premiership starting 2005-06. Champions League might happen sooner, though.

Yeah, that All-Star team is going to make some noise...in their own clubhouse. Just think back to the Yankees before Steinbrenner got banned. The Yankees sprinkled money all over the place with limited results. Then he gets banned, can't screw with the club, they develop from within and start winning like crazy. You had better hope that Russian gets banned from the EPL.

That "All-Star" team is going to have a few less stars. Hasselbaink is gone. So is Desailly. Veron is out on loan, and Crespo is expected to leave. There will no doubt be a few more high-profile exits.

What does ManU have planned to counter Chelsea and the Gunners?

Where did Hasselbaink and Desailly go?

Any chance Edgar Davids goes to Chelsea?

JTQ

Mourinho already said that he's not picking up Davids..

I'm waiting for Rafa Benitez to buy Aimar from Valencia to Liverpool....it would be awesome for EPL

Supposedly Hasselbaink was talking with Celtic and Rangers. Celtic denied talking with him, but maybe Rangers has.

Desailly will probably play somewhere in France.

Ah yes, will be good to watch Arsenal beat out the two financial giants once again.

Arsenal, the best French team north of the English Channel. From the manager to the lowest man on the bench not a better collection of Frogs outside of Paris to be found.

What, no posts from Tanya93 declaring the greatness of Allan Shearer and Newcastle?

Sir Bobby Robson might be the first casualty next year as far as firings are concerned. Newcastle regressed this past year and they won't be happy with a repeat of that.

Greatness. As a francophone and an Arsenal fan, I applaud you.

it's obvious you make poor choices about who to follow.

On another note, how is Liverpool shaping up?

Liverpool dumped their Frog manager. They signed Gerrard to an extension which pissed me off because I really wanted ManU to sign him as a replacement for Keano.

As far as ManU they are splashing money around this offseason. However, I was not happy about the Smith signing.

I think it was more a fact of a young team (not including Shearer of course) overachieving two years ago. They'll contend for fourth but they are nowhere near the big three.

What I wanna know is, when will ManU get some defenders? That was there problem last year but unless I missed a few things, the only defender I heard them pick up was a 17 year old bad ass from Spain I believe but he's 17! Sure they'll get Ferdinand back but they really could use some more backs. Why chase after Smith and Rooney first?

I am very much looking forward to the upcoming EPL season!!!!!!!!

It's obvious that either Arsenal, United, Liverpool, or Chelsea will win it all, but I think it's tougher than ever to weigh who'll be the 1 win it all.

Now that Wenger has turned down the coaching position with the German federation, I hope that Arsenal will continue to focus on attacking football. Last year they were spectacular! I don't like their thug nature in regard to cautions and ejections, but they are a plessure to see in action!

I can't wait to see what Chelsea have in store. A smaller roster and new coaches could be just what they need to finally win some hardware in 2005. Hasselbank and Crespo are two of my favorite players, but they won't be missed from the roster.

Man United? I hope they can get their act together this year. I love Ruud, Scholes, Giggs, Howard, Rio, etc... Too bad the new player moves didn't pan out last year. I think Saha was a great compliment player for Ruud (if he can stay healthy this time). Smith will do well under Sir Alex too; he's going to turn into a real pro (finally). Ferdinand will make all the difference for the defense.

And finally the Reds of Liverpool. I'm glad Houllier is gone. They had too much attacking talent to be so defensive minded and booring in style. Sending Heskey to Birmingham will help them. The new coach and a happy owen and gerard will make a huge difference.

My heart says 1. Arsenal, 2. United, 3 Blues

Rio Ferninand coming back will make all the difference to ManU. John O' Shea will hopefully display the form he showed 2 years ago. I think defensively ManU will be fine next year. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Man Utd signed the Argentinean defender Heinz from PSG. With Rio back, they'll be better defensively. I hope they go to Stamford Bridge on opening day and stuff Chelsea.

Of course it won't make a difference if Arsenal never lose

I just don't see Chelsea doing great things next year. Of course I could be wrong. I am predicting ManU to clear the field by at least 5 points.

The latest ha Crespo saying he'll fight for his job at Chelsea. But it's difficult to say if he'll be back or not.

Hasselbaink, Viduka (from Leeds), Reiziger (from Barca) have signed for Middlesbrough

Postiga who scored the first goal for POrtugal against England have agreed to move back to Porto from Spurs via swap deal (Pedro Mendez)

I love how Tottenham are making huge changes and just when they actually might live up to the hype, they get rid of Keller. Not a done deal yet but you gotta think that they didn't bring in Robinson to sit on the bench.

How the hell would Ronaldo end up there?

ce1994

Ronaldo from Brazil and currently with Real Madrid was rumored last week to wanting to go to Tottenham. Apparently, someone that discovered him as a youth is now high up on the food chain at Tottenham. Ronaldo over the past few years has expressed a desire to play in the EPL.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
How did I never hear about that? It'll never happen but that's something you think I would have heard.

In other news, Marseille says no to Chelsea's 19 million pound bid for Drogba. Marseille are saying the offer should be no less than 25. Personally I think both numbers are outlandish for the guy but leave it to Chelsea to overpay for talent.
JTQ
How long do you want to ignore this user?
well Cavenaghi who I think is on par or better than Drogba just confirmed to move from River Plate to Spartak Moscow ....for US$11.5M..or about 7.5M pounds....

It was just a blurp on ESPNsoccernet. I don't think there is a chance in hell it will happen.

I didn't think that was right but I wasn't 100% confident. Or rather should I say he wasn't who I was thinking of although Heinz isn't on this list. I was thinking of Bernabeu (with a name like that, how is he not playing for Real)

http://www.football365.com/features/f365_features/story_119123.shtml

For those who take a look at that link, which team do you think has made the biggest improvement in the off-season? On paper I think you have to say Birmingham but I think Gronkjaer and Heskey could bite them in the ass. I do like the Melchiot signing however.

Heinz was from PSG. The team was yelling at ManU that it was going to cost a pretty penny for him to transfer.

Hmmm, have to respond to the post above about Tottenham getting rid of Keller. They have not actually got rid of Keller, but they did sign Robinson from Leeds. Keller is 35 years old now.
Robinson is only 24 & is the #2 England goalkeeper. I think Keller is good, but I think that often his distribution was pretty poor. Robinson is one for the future. If you saw him play against Liverpool last Saturday, he made a great reflex save & did a great job in goal.
Spurs have to sign a few more players to get into the top 6, but I think we can do it. The team has not played together & for the most part is pretty young.
I'm waiting for Tottenham to be great again. It's been a while!

Hey Ollie, I thought you were world traveling or something. How's it going?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

LondonOllie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, still traveling, but internet here in Bangkok is cheap, so don't mind checking the bulletin boards now & then.
Made our way up from Indonesia, to Malaysia, & now we are in Thailand. Next up heading north...the missus & I are going to spend 10 days at the Thai Elephant Conservation Center! Going to be assigned our own Elephant, we will learn all about them, & about being a Mahout. We get to do a 3 day jungle trek with our Elephants. While we are at the camp, we also have to wash them, feed them, etc. We will stay with the locals. Should be really really great.

After that, heading to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia. Then flying up to Nepal & hopefully Tibet, before heading to OZ & New Zealand...then to the South Pacific for some serious diving.

****e...not looking forward to getting back to the real world & having to work for a living again!

Hope all's well in Texas with everyone.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!

Sounds like a great trip. I'll try not to be jealous. Good thing you root for Spurs -- it'll help keep you grounded.

Y'all have fun, Ollie.
