Anyone know the results of the match today? There were no updates on Aggieathletics as usual.

The match is tomorrow at 2:30 at Bentwater on Lake Conroe. It should be a really great match.

That makes sense now...don't know why I thought it was today. Thanks.

Hopefully we can overcome our past struggles with Rice in Conroe tomorrow.

Edit: Just realized it was for today...guess the threat of thunderstorms forced it's postponement just like every other sport today.

The Men's Team beat Rice 4-3 today, and it just endeed a few minutes ago. We lost the doubles point, but Khalid, Ante and Nallon won their singles matches, leaving the match up to Ryan Newport on line one (Lester and Matt lost their singles). Ryan won in the third set, giving the match to the AGS.

Well done Ags!!!

Way to go Ags. We are back in the top 10 and we get revenge for last year's loss to Rice by beating one of the hottest teams in tennis. We also overcome the doubles loss. Rice does have top doubles players.

On to Oklahoma this weekend, kick Sooner butt!!!

Which doubles matches did we lose? I was hoping Newport/Cook could pull the upset. Congrats to Nallon for rebounding after the Alabama let down.

Just got back from Bentwater and watched a spectacular Aggie victory over a very good Rice team. It was a very difficult day, especially letting the doubles point slip away. We had a number of opportunities to win the doubles point, but you have to give a lot of credit to the Rice team for hanging tough and getting it done. The same thing can be said for our guys in singles. Ante and John both won in straight sets, Mat lost in straight sets, and the rest went the distance. Khalid won his first set, but got beat 6-0 in the second set, before coming back to win the third. Lester won the first set but lost the next two sets. The young man from Rice severly sprained his ankle in the third set, but battled back to break Les and then served it out for a very inspiring victory. At the same time, Ryan had lost the first set, won the second in a tie breaker, and was down 3-0 in the third. Ryan really played the way you would like your senior number one to play down the stretch. In short he was Ryan at his best in crunch time. He broke Barker to go up 5-4 and was serving for the match. He went down 15-40, before getting back to duece and had two huge serves at the end to basically save the day for the Aggies. Great job by Coaches Cass and Madden keeping everything together in the face of a lot of unusual circumstances. The road is tough, and things will not be much easier in Norman or Stillwater this week-end.

Thanks for the details Raven, wish I could have been there too, I have been able to make many of the road matches and all the home matches so far. Will be in Oklahoma for sure both days. The team was real pleased at Pepperdine to see all the maroon in the stands, NO Pepperdine fans were there, but about 30 or so AG fans were there to support. It makes a difference, a spirit unmatched anywhere.

AggieMBA: I'm sorry I did not address your question. We lost in very close matches at one and three in doubles, and won a close match at two. We probably should have won at three.

What unusual circumstances?

Were the Rice assistant coaches as annoying and whinning as they were last year? I'm glad we got the win and the payback.

The very quick answer to your question is yes. It even got more out of hand this year. Also they only had three officials trying to handle six matches which rendered them nearly totally ineffective.

Screw those rice idiots what does that make a even 300 victories over Rice...I really don't like them and that curly haired assistant coach what a retard.
