I guess boxing doesn't get too much run on this board, but unless I missed it, I don't think anyone has mentioned Arturo Gatti's death over the weekend. He was my favorite boxer of the current era, and it sucks that he's gone. I'm going to watch the Gatti-Ward trilogy on DVD tonight to honor his career.

He was my favorite. I've seen every Gatti fight but never any in-person.

This is getting a little strange... Now Vernon Forrest has been murdered. I believe he is the third former boxing champ murdered in the last month or so.

actually, he might be the only one of the 3 that was murdered. Arguello's was apparently suicide and now it's looking more like Gatti's death may have been suicide too. The autopsy indicated he was suspended/hanged, which if true, makes it tougher to believe his wife did it.

Thanks for the correction. Its a shame that so many of these fighters get into such bad situations. I guess a lot of them just never left bad situations, too, though.
