ETA: Awesome type by me. That should be "putting," not "outing," obviously.

Yeah, he got angry with his putter and bent it and it became unusable, but he has to finish his 2nd round with the clubs in his bag, so there for had to resort to using his driver..

If you damage a club during the "normal course of play", you still have options that may allow you to still use it, try to fix it, or even potentially replace it - the options depend on the type/extent of the damage.

However, if you damage a club during a fit of anger, you are SOL. You can't use the thing or replace it for the rest of the round.

As a longtime golfer, there's not much that pisses me off more than a club thrower/slammer. It's so freaking juvenile and a lot of times can be dangerous to the folks around you.
