MEN: Some ups and downs.
Tran Howell and Justin Oliver made the finals in the 60 – a race they had not run all season. Pleasant surprise.
Four made the 60 finals. Howell, Oliver, Gerald Phiri, and Dominique Stafford. Gerald also made the 200 finals.
Last year in the 200, Chris Dykes finished 4th in the Big 12 meet and 4th in the NCAA meet. This year he did not make the Big 12 200 finals.
Justin had the fastest 400 prelim time but will have very stiff competition in the finals
Bryan Miller finished ninth in the 400 and did not make the finals.
Three made the finals in the distance races (600y, 800, 1000, mile): Nick Toohey & Matt Ross (1000) and Kevin Ondrasek (mile). No points in the 5000. 3000 tomorrow. We are not very good in the distances.
De’Lon Isom made the finals in the 60H. Will earn some points.
DMR – second place finish, excellent results. Usually not a great relay for the Ags. Two fish – Oscar Ramirez & Michael Preble along with Toohey and Ondrasek.
Long Jump – only 6 points today – was hoping for more. Neb got 21.
Trinity Otto – although he is usually not as strong in the last day’s events, at the end of today, he was in first place in the Heptathlon. Super efforts on his part. Very unexpected.
Triple Jumpers tomorrow.
