I've seen scant details about this, besides a schedule of events. Anyone know what teams/athletes to expect or anything along those lines?

Events that are MUST WATCH events:

WOMEN:
The 60m and 200m will have the best group of collegiate runners to compete against each other this year. Incredible field! Most, if not all, will be back here for the NCAA Championship meet

60m: 3 of the top 4 and 7 of the top 11 collegiate sprinters will be in this one –
Top 3: Murielle Ahoure – Miami; Porscha Lucas – Texas A&M; Tiffany Townsend – Bay
Add to them Charonda Williams (Az St), Alexandria Anderson (tu), Gabby Mayo (A&M), & Jessica Young TCU).

200m: 6 of the top 7 times will be here:
Ahoure, Townsend, Lucas, Mayo, Anderson, Allison George (A&M), and Jessica Beard (A&M)

Never has there been such an exceptional group of sprinters at an A&M meet – Indoors or Outdoors; men or women.

60mH: Moriam-Seun Adigun (Houston) & Gabby – They finished 1-2 at the New Balance meet last weekend.

4x400: 4 of the top 9 teams – A&M, tu, Bay, and TCU

Triple Jump: 4 Aggies could make the NCAA Championships. Yasmine Regis, Ashika Charan, Vashti Thomas, Angela Thomas.

If i could suggest 2 things, and also answer a question.

1. The 1000 friday evening....Australian Nick Toohey will try to break the Australian Indoor Record of 2.20.3

2. Kevin Ondrasek will try run sub 4 for the mile saturday.

3. The same person who told me that also informed Shadrack quit.

This will be my first meet. Where do you park? Do they open up the lot next to Kyle for $? How much?

You have any idea what happened?

Seems so all of the sudden.

I noticed he did not run against the SEC or go to NY, but quit? I can't believe he would give it up. He only has a few more weeks and his collegiate career will be over. Why quit before you are finished??

Kevin Ondrasek has not been close to a 4 min mile, has he?

If he wants to run a sub-4, all he has to do is stay close to German Fernandez at the Big 12 meet.

Instead of watching Shadrack run the 5000 this Friday, everyone can watch to see how many times Sally Kipyego laps the field.

It appears that we are still 15 points behind Ark men in the NCAA Championship race. Somehow, we need a 15-point swing.

That is just what one of the cross guys told me. No idea if he has been close or not, certainly has not been this year

It'd be nice for Phiri to show marked improvement along with our relays in the next couple of weeks.

Yes it would. We definitely need some more points. However, it appears that Arkansas has a very good lead.

Chris Dykes finished fifth in the 200 last year and is not in the top 10 this year. He could give us some more points.

LV - Check my figures. Based on best performances, the current men's rankings are:
1. Ark - 46
2. LSU - 34
3. A&M - 31
4. tu - 28
5. Oregon - 26
6. Georgia - 24

The Indoor meet previewed continued excitement for Coach Henry's track team next year. Jeneba Tarmoh ran her first race at Aggieland but not as an official Aggie. She ran unattached which means that whoever said she did not get a release from Tennessee and would have to sit out a year was probably correct.

Given her chance to show her stuff, she did very well

Jeneba's 7.31 in the 60 would be the second best in the Big 12 this year behind Porscha Lucas's 7.30. Her 23.31 would tie Baylor's Tiffany Townsend for the best in the Big 12 this year. Thus, there will be a lot of excitement next year when she runs as an official Aggie. Can't wait.

Clora Williams (Jamaica) ran unattached. Is she the same Clora Williams who specialized in the 400 for the Ags two and three years ago? She accomplished many things at A&M and it is obvious by her 53.63 time in the 400 Friday, that she is still involved in track somewhere.

April Williams was the third best Aggie recruit behind Beard and Mayo in 2007. However, she apparently never enrolled - I never saw her name on any A&M roster. She was an exceptional hurdler - a three time AA and #1 for two years.

I note that Friday, there was an April Williams who ran a very fast 60mH at the A&M Invitational. She runs for Barton County Community College. She is not on their Web site roster but I did find where she ran an incredible 8.35 last week at Nebraska beating Nebraska's top two hurdlers - Erega and LaCour who currently have the 3rd and 4th best times in the Big 12. April's time would be second only to Mayo in the Big 12.

I wonder if she will be joining the cavalcade of the nation's best hurdlers to Aggieland.

Another former Aggie runner was Richard Adu-Bobie. Richard ran the 60 dash with a faster time than Dominique Stafford did.

Sally Kipyego (Texas Tech) ran at Tyson instead of at A&M and ran an incredible mile - 4:32.

Does anyone know how the Tyson Track Center compares with Gilliam?
