The Big 12 Cross Country Championships are this coming weekend – Saturday, Nov 1 – in Ames, Iowa.

Oklahoma State looks the strongest in the Men’s division. Their lowest national ranking all season has been #3. They return three of last year’s top ten runners.

Led by Sally Kipyego, Texas Tech looks the strongest in the Women’s division closely followed by the Baylor ladies.

MEN:
With the addition of Shadrack Songok, the men have done very well this year. Although we probably will not best Oklahoma State in the Big12 Championships, we have an excellent chance to win the South Central Regional trophy two weeks later in Waco.

Shadrack along with Kevin McNab, Mitch Bible, Kevin Ondrasek, and Joe Sauvageau make a strong five-some. If they are healthy, we should have an excellent showing.

Women finished 11th, with Munoz taking 7th individually

Men finished 4th, with Songok taking 2nd individually

As predicted, OSU men and Tech women won the title

The men beat Texas for the first time since Henry's staff has been in place...a big thumbs up to Coach Waters for getting the guys' team past what has been a solid Longhorn men's squad for the past few years

Aggies won the Central Regional today, heading to the NCAAs

South Central Regional.

Great job for the Aggies, they could have counted their 6th man in the score and still gotten 2nd to advance.

Arkansas had won the last 18 regional meets, and the Aggies were ready to step into the void left by Arkansas's coaching departure. Great job men.

Fourth this year in the Big12 meet and Regional Champions – we lose our top three runners -- Shadrack Songok (2/1), Kevin McNab (10/6), and Kevin Ondrasek (27/9). In parentheses are their finishes in the Big12 and Regional meets respectively.

WOMEN:
Eleventh in this year’s Big12 meet and sixth at Regionals -- we return all runners. However, if you eliminate the results of all the seniors from this year’s Big12 meet, we would have still finished 11th.

FUTURE: We had only two freshmen participate in the Big12 meet:
Kevin Burnett (60th)
Amber Weems (83rd)

Odd that the Big12 meet is so much stronger than the Regional meet. South Central Regional meet is comprised of teams from only three states - Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

NCAA Cross Country Finals – Nov 24

MEN:
Ranked 22nd prior to the finals, the Ags finished in next to last place (30th). Arkansas, who we beat in the South Central Regional meet, finished 28th.
Shadrack Songok finished a stellar season with All-American honors as he finished 22nd overall.
Fellow seniors Kevin McNab and Kevin Ondrasek finished 186th and 191st respectively.
Juniors Mitch Bible, Joe Sauvageau, and Logan Sherman finished 161st, 192nd, and 251st respectively.
Freshman Kevin Burnett finished 239th.

Oklahoma State 8th [second and fifth runners are seniors]
Colorado 12th [fourth runner a senior]
Iowa State 17th [second and fourth runners are seniors]

WOMEN:
