what happened with one of the tu girls? I read in the Batt that she got into it with the crowd at some point? I had to leave after the doubles matches were over, care to share some details? We were being pretty loud...

she got rattled and at one point told me to STFU.

other things happened too but that was the high light.

Our fans were yelling at her, as always, and at one point, deep in the 3rd set, she got upset, apparently said some cuss words, and our fans got onto her, she turned around and told them to shut up. When she won the next point, she made a few gestures to them.

The kicker was that when she won, and was standing on court 3 watching the #5 match, she was still talking crap, and Coach K yelled at the head official to get her to shutup.

#1 girl continually griped to the official that the fans were too loud, and yelling before points, and was bi tching about all kinds of crap. Apparently its okay when her fans at home do the same thing, but we cant do it to her.

Sounds like there was a good, rowdy crowd.

If I had stayed, I would have brought out a Hellen Keller joke, but oh well...

this ALWAYS happens when the whorns come to town. they get rattled by the smallest things at our courts.

does anyone remember when Petra Dizdar (sp?) plugged her ears when everyone was yelling at her? Or when she gave the crowd a pelvic thrust when she won a point?

People complain about Kleinecke's inability to get to the next level and although I agree, at least our teams seem to have great character, which in turn says a lot about his character...as do the actions of the t.u. girls about their coach.

We always have a group of good girls, never nut cases like tu had last night. You could tell some of them were whiners, especially #1, she was a biatch

coach has made it clear what we can and cannot do. we stay classy and have not had complaints from most every other team.

I beg to differ. Some of the big money guys in the patio club can heckle some. If you are going to pay the money to be that close to the court, learn tennis etiquette. Its quite embarrassing to have our fans yell stupid stuff all match long.

No heckling give me a break its college sports happens all the time..There lucky people are even bothering to watch womens tennis let the fans heckle all they want...

If they don't like it they can go to St.Edwards and play tennis where no one will even be there..good lord..Bigfoot if heckling is the thing that makes you embarrassed about aggie sports I could point to nut grabbing on tv..flinging poo etc...This is nothing.

I hate to side with livermore on this one, but I think he's right. If Bobby K. didn't like it (or if he had the nuts), he would stop it.

If you are mentally tough on the court it matters not what the fans say. It is the nature of college tennis and it is something that I look forward to.

With that said, there are times when it goes over the edge. Best choice!!!!Yell like crazy between points, stop when the player is about to serve. Direct your energy toward your own player. They are the ones that need the support.

A few years back the Texas Hell Raisers came to a home match vs ATM. None of them knew how or when to cheer at a tennis match. I explained. Nevertheless there were some who just didn't get it and were asked to leave the front row area. Others got the picture.

If it gets out of hand, it is the job of the head coach to shut it down by addressing his own fans from the court. That seems to take care of it. I have seen both Steve Denton and Michael Center talk to their fans when things got too rowdy.

I actually enjoy the crowd when we play at ATM. The part I like the best is when they get quiet just before we win.

the part i like best is when you challenge student athletes to a fight after the match. remember that one?

There is a big difference between yelling for your team, between points, and yelling against the other team when they make a mistake. People are clapping and yelling after the opposing team has a double fault.

You cant compare yelling at a tennis match with yelling at a football, baseball, or basketball game. Its known as a gentlemans sport for a reason. There are just certain ways that you dont yell in a tennis match. If you cant understand that, then dont come.

and talk about your "clueless" posters livermore, holding up New Yorkers at the U.S. Open and jealous European and 3rd World countries in Davis Cup as your defense pretty much proves the point.

Heckling in Tennis is pure bush league. I'd love to rattle opponents by yelling like crazy for our side.
