Golfweek and Golf World magazines have named Texas A&M freshman Nacho Elvira (Santander, Spain) the national player of the week for the period between March 17-23. Golfweek also named A&M as its national team of the week.

A&M fired a school-record score of 37-under-par to capture the title by 20 strokes at the Barona Collegiate Cup on March 18. Four Aggies placed among the top six, led by Elvira, who won individual honors by three shots with a 12-under total of 67-71-66=204.
