Re watching...after glen hits hit...negan says "****ing *******, I'm just getting started".... Did he drop an f bomb cause that's what it sounded like and I didn't catch it the first round....on the blu Ray and in the comic his every other word is ****...so I was shocked when I thought I heard it just now...

Zombie gore is way different than that type of gore involving your favorite characters. I haven't felt sick to my stomach like that from a TV show since the Red Wedding.

You people talking about how awesome it was are weird.

Yeah it was great TV but not something I would ever watch again. Ever.

It's not like I enjoyed the gore... but I understand why it was necessary. Rick and the group has been through so much ****, it was going to take a real eye opener to break them (pun slightly intended). Holy hell did they get it.

This show was better when it was about characters developing into survivors and the internal struggle of keeping their morality opposed to the new reality they live in. Now the show just goes for the shock factor, not worth watching anymore IMO

IMO the shock value of this episode was for this exact reason. They absolutely put the cast under Negan's thumb in the only way we would actually believe it. If they tried to convince us that a Rick or a Daryl would be subservient to Negan in any less of a manner we would see right through it. Not only did they break Rick, they broke us at the same time.

Now we can see the characters "developing" again like we did in the first 2 seasons. It is DEFINITELY a new world and how do they react/navigate?

I am so hooked, they made me believe, they made me hate Negan and they absolutely crushed it!

Killing zombies (a mythical monster) is one thing; watching beloved human characters get butchered is another. People get attached to characters. They don't get attached to monsters.

Not sure why this is hard to grasp on why some folks are bailing after that. I'm not at all but I get it if you are a female and don't typically watch stuff like that.

I thought the axe out of the camper was simply poor editing. That was a wtf moment when they showed the axe on the roof. If it wasn't simply poor editing then we have a boomerang axe on our hands.

Yes it was brutal, and hard to watch, but it was very well done. We are attached to our group because we have seen them throughout their whole ordeal. Were you so offended when random humans were killed by Rick and the gang? That's what Rick's group is to Neegan...random humans. I thought JD Morgan made a great point in Talking Dead when he said Neegan really does see himself as a good guy doing what he can for the survival of his group.

I can't wait to see the rest of the season!

This thread is so weird. Didn't think it was over the top gory. Certainly not the goriest thing ever on TV....maybe I just watch different shows than many of y'all.


Also, maybe y'all need to turn up your TV's. Negan tossed the hatchet up on to the roof....it was obvious when you heard the thud of it landing there seconds after he tossed it up there.

I'm not sure I get the complaints over the brutality. There've been children eaten on screen in this show. Yeah, it was rough, but I don't think it was the worst they've done.

To be fair, the children who were eaten really, really needed to be eaten. I think this was worse because it was characters we actually liked being taken out by other humans on purpose instead of by a zombie hoard. Off the top of my head I can't really think of another character who fits both criteria except for Herschel, and maybe Beth. And Beth's death was a direct result of her amazing stupidity so that kind of made it less bad for me. Herschel's was quick and kind of shocking. It didn't have months of build-up, combined with a really tense 30 minute ordeal for everyone like this episode did.
