In 72-68 loss, A&M fights but comes up empty again

As 10,558 at Reed Arena held their collective breath, Elston Turner’s potential game-tying three-point shot in the final seconds arched high, descended toward the basket and then … rattled in and out.

It was another near-miss in a season full of them.

Kentucky (15-6, 6-2) got the rebound and added a free throw with one second left to escape with a 72-68, Southeastern Conference basketball victory over Texas A&M (13-8, 3-5) on Saturday.
