Tuesday Notebook: Sooners size up Johnny Football

IRVING, Texas — Nearly 1,000 voters decided the Heisman Trophy recipient, but the Heisman trust could have just let the Oklahoma Sooners choose the winner.

The Sooners will have faced all three Heisman finalists when they play against Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel in the Cotton Bowl.

OU also faced Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein, who finished second and third to Manziel in the Heisman voting.
