2014 Bishop Dunne OL Jovan Pruitt — “Johnny Football Manziel should win it because he is the new prototype for quarterbacks, and he doesn’t stop producing for the A&M offense.”

2014 Gilmer LB Josh Walker — “Johnny Manziel, because I hear he’s a great leader. I watched him when he spoke the first time, and he was very well spoken. It was like he had done it a million times. Not to take anything away from A&M, but he’s on the road to turning the program around.
