Aggies open season with 12-point win over La Tech

COLLEGE STATION - In its 2012 season opener, the Texas A&M men’s basketball team defeated Louisiana Tech, 71-59.
The Bulldogs’ Raheem Appleby paced all scorers with 20 points but three Aggies reached double figures as A&M pulled away in the second half for the school’s 13th consecutive opening night victory.
“I was proud of the way our guys fought and competed, especially on the defensive end,” Texas A&M head coach Billy Kennedy said.
