Heisman Hopefuls: In lack of leaders, defense has a chance

Fifteen years ago Michigan cornerback Charles Woodson became the first primarily-defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy.
Since then, the only defensive players to finish in the top five of the Heisman balloting were Nebraska tackle Ndamukong Suh, who was fourth in 2009, and LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, who was fifth last year.
