Mike Elko's first complete recruiting cycle at A&M comes to a close

With 24 new Aggies signed, the first full recruiting cycle of the Mike Elko Era has come to a close as focus now shifts to the transfer portal. Far past scramble mode this offseason, the decisions made from December moving forward will be unequivocally tied directly to Elko.

Barring some unforeseen circumstances, the first full recruiting cycle of Mike Elko’s tenure at Texas A&M came to a close on Wednesday. The Aggies inked 24 players from the high school ranks in this December window and have no outstanding targets remaining, according to Elko in his TexAgs Signing Day interview.

The focus now turns to the transfer portal — both incoming and outgoing — as the 2025 football roster construction begins in earnest.
