Every college football team acknowledges a need for speed. Texas A&M needs it, too.
But the Aggies are seeking it from an unlikely source.
‘Tempo’ has been a buzz word throughout August as first-year A&M Coach Kevin Sumlin sought to get his rapid-fire offense moving at the desired speed — approximately 15 seconds between plays. Ironically, the responsibility for that has fallen on one of the biggest — and presumably slowest — players in the huddle.
