Comparing Texas A&M's NET standing in December 2023 to last year

Just three games remain on Texas A&M's non-conference schedule, but the Aggies' NET ranking is already much better than last year's. With a pair of Quadrant 1 victories and the absence of any Quad 3 or 4 losses, the Aggies sit at No. 23 in the all-important metric.

Over the past six seasons, college basketball fans have heard a lot about the NET ranking and its importance to the NCAA Tournament committee when selecting the field and more importantly seeding the tournament.

The NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) was initially conceived by the NCAA to put more weight on performance metrics associated with offensive and defensive efficiencies, quality of wins and the location of those wins (home/road/neutral site).
