Thursday Post-Practice: Kevin Sumlin & David Beaty

* It was a non-padded practice, so there were things the coaches really wanted to accomplish schematically. They did their first series of two-minute drills today and it was a teaching moment for the offense and defense with the tempo getting down the field. For the last practice of the spring before the spring game, they got plenty out of it. The spring game needs to be utilized as more of a practice situation.

* He thinks they've progressed better than he originally thought.
