Young quarterbacks still growing toward consistency, maturity Fisher demands

A learning curve is to expected as three younger quarterbacks compete to replace Kellen Mond, who spent most of four years entrenched as the Aggie starter. Jimbo Fisher sees promise in each of the three but says they're still learning to do it all well consistently.

There’s an old adage that says “If mama ain’t happy, nobody’s happy.”

There seems to be a slight variation in Texas A&M spring football drills: “If quarterbacks aren’t like mama, coach Jimbo Fisher ain’t happy.”

At least that seemed to be the message on Friday from Fisher, who demands quarterbacks Haynes King, Zach Calzada and Eli Stowers not only get cooking on the field, but also learn to clean up.
