Want a great college football season? Get a great quarterback. Great quarterback play is almost a prerequisite for a great season.

The list of starting quarterbacks in the last three College Football Playoff fields includes Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Jake Fromm, Baker Mayfield and Ian Book.

Whether Notre Dame's Ian Book meets the criteria of "great" could be up for debate, but the others definitely qualify.
