Howell's Top Five: My all-time favorite Texas HS recruiting stories

First off, I have covered some awesome kids and families over my career, but these recruitments all standout to me for several reasons. There were twists and turns along the way. There were both mystery and intrigue, and many of them spanned multiple years. So let’s begin.

5. WR Dylan Wright‍, Mesquite West Mesquite (2019) – In June of 2016, Wright was a 6-foot-3, 175-pound quarterback spinning a tight spiral at the Qwick Twitch/Illinois satellite camp in Lancaster. He was coming off a freshman season where he earned district newcomer of the year honors, and he was preparing to spend the 2016 season on JV after transferring to Ennis.
