A&M started their pursuit of Devon Achane‍ last year during that playoff game against Consolidated. He was offered two weeks after that and was very close to committing then. But he decided to let things play out, and LSU made their push. The Aggies, however, always stayed near the forefront, and they made their push late. The track aspect was huge for them, and I think it really went all the way in A&M's favor after his mom sat down with Pat Henry and track staff. This kid is going to have a shot at the Olympics. He's that good.

The thing with Devonis this; he just glides people, and it never seems like he reaches top speed. He reminds me a lot of Leeland McElroy. Lee Fedora at A&M Consolidated said they worked all week on pursuit angles, and it was like 10 yards deeper than they usually did it.

This is a kid that is going to come in on a team with a lot of returning starters, and he is going to play because of what he can do. He's that explosive, Ainias and Devon actually go way back, and they are really good friends. His raw physical ability is unlike anything on this A&M roster.

I think the Aggies are trading blows with Illinois right now. Don't sleep on the Aggies with current Oklahoma commit Edgerrin Cooper‍ either. I think the Aggies take one linebacker, and they want Doyle.

Does Vernon Broughton‍ stick with Texas?

Yes, I think he sticks. I heard he reached out to Oklahoma. But it will be interesting to see what happens with the Longhorn staff in the offseason.
