Hardened and hardwired, Kellen Mond drops jaws while keeping his set

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — In that moment, Kellen Mond didn’t know.

Mond knew he had dropped the snap. Mond knew he had grabbed the ball. Mond knew LSU linebacker Devin White had clobbered him as he threw the ball. Mond knew LSU safety Grant Delpit had caught the ball.

“Nobody knew my knee was down,” Mond says. “Nobody saw it. I didn’t even know it.”

Mond was sure Texas A&M had lost. Yet he remained placid. This surprises no one who knows Mond.
