With more than 90,000 in attendance on a sweltering Thursday night at Kyle Field, Jimbo Fisher's Aggies methodically took care of business, taking a commanding 28-0 lead into halftime and eventually disposing of the Texas State Bobcats, 41-7.

As far as season openers go, this would qualify as rock-solid. The Ags started strong, building a 14-0 first-quarter lead, gradually pushing the margin to 41 before allowing a last-minute, spread-covering score by their Sun Belt visitors. A very sharp Kellen Mond and the A&M receivers picked up right where they left off last season.
