• When I was at Texas A&M, no one came up to me and said, “coach, you’re crazy to do three-a-days.” I blame myself; I took a lot out of them. It’s about being prepared, rested, and better than the other teams. We were prepared, but I think I wore them down a little too much.
   
• I was happy to have a reunion. Anytime your former players do something for you years later and honor you; it’s a big deal.
