A bricked shot of a Texas A&M basketball season ended with an inauspicious thud on Thursday night as the 11th-seeded Aggies fell 80-54 to No. 6-seed Mississippi State in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament in Nashville.

The loss also figures to end the 8-year tenure of coach Billy Kennedy, who reportedly will be fired. Kennedy will end his A&M tenure with a 151-116 record.

As has been frequently the case this season, the Aggies (14-18) struggled on the offensive end, particularly at the 3-point line, struggled with turnovers, gave up too many 3-point goals, fell behind Mississippi State early and could not recover.
