Spring camp kicks off on Wednesday, March 20, and Billy is previewing specific trends and players to keep an eye on over the next month. You can read each story in the series here.

1. Backup quarterback

Without hesitation, I’d call the battle for QB2 the most important of the spring. Darrell Dickey has three options in sophomore Connor Blumrick, redshirt freshman James Foster and strong-armed true freshman Zach Calzada. Because the Ags have an established starter this time around in Kellen Mond and because Calzada is an early enrollee and Foster will be legitimately in the mix for the first time, don’t expect Dickey or Jimbo Fisher to rush anything.
