Clutch when it counts, Aggies escape again with win over Gamecocks

The crowd was raucous. The opponent was relentless. The situation was really, really tense.

A Texas A&M 16-point lead had dissolved into a three-point margin with just over seven minutes to play. They had wasted too many opportunities. They had allowed South Carolina to remain in reach of an upset.

The No. 22 Aggies were on their own 22-yard line. They needed to play keep away from the Gamecocks offense, which had frequently victimized the Aggies depleted secondary in the second half.
