Junior Erik McCoy hopes to be the next Lufkin product to make it to the NFL

ATLANTA, Ga. — Life in the piney woods East Texas town of Lufkin can make a kid grow up big and tough.

Blue collar jobs like hauling pulpwood are available for those willing to work hard. That hard work hardens bodies, toughens minds and often turns teen-aged boys into star football players. There have been a bunch of them, too.
