Sophomore Tyrel Dodson leading Aggie linebacking corps to new heights

October 10, 2017

Youngsters tend to oversimplify things.

For example: A&M sophomore linebacker Tyrel Dodson was distressed by his play in a recent win over Arkansas. He knew improvement was required.

“I was upset because of the rushing yards they had,” he said. “I was upset with my play, and I knew I could play better. So, I fixed it.”

In last week’s game against Alabama, Dodson fixed whatever was wrong by posting a career-high 16 tackles, 2.5 for lost yardage and a sack.

This came just a week after junior linebacker Otaro Alaka had the best game of his A&M career with nine tackles — five for lost yardage — against South Carolina.
