We're extremely excited to announce that former Texas A&M running back and safety Brandon Leone has joined our full-time staff. Leone, who was recruited by R.C. Slocum and played under Dennis Franchione from 2003-06, will serve as a football and recruiting analyst for TexAgs.
We've been trying to get Brandon on board for quite some time because of his wealth of knowledge about the game of football and his passion, energy and great personality … all of which will fit perfectly with what we have already built at TexAgs. This latest hire will help us take the next step in our effort to provide the absolute best and most complete coverage of Aggie football and A&M football recruiting.

Leone will team up with Logan Lee in calling recruits and establishing relationships with A&M targets on the recruiting trail. Together, they will be able to make twice as many calls and join forces with me to provide TexAgs subscribers with the very latest in recruiting. Leone will add a new wrinkle to our recruiting coverage in that he'll be able to break down and analyze recruits, pinpointing what they do well and what they need to work on to take the next step as a player.
Brandon will also add a former player element to football coverage, approaching his written and video content from an Xs and Os perspective. We hope that Leone will be able to teach fans more about football and provide in-depth and insightful breakdowns regarding Texas A&M, their opponents, the Big 12, etc.
In addition, Leone will serve as our "former player relations" rep here at TexAgs. He'll work tirelessly to get more and more former players to make TexAgs a regular stop on the Internet and to become regular contributing posters on the Premium board.
Brandon's first order of business is helping us this week with the state 7-on-7 tournament and the final A&M one day camp on Sunday. And then it's off to the races with calling recruits, working on gathering scoop for our subscribers and helping get you prepared for the start of fall camp.
Leone's introductory post is included below. Please give him a nice "welcome" as he begins his journey with TexAgs!
Thanks,
Liucci
Message from Brandon Leone
Howdy everyone,
Before I say anything else, the first question I want to ask everyone is … "Are you ready for some football?" I know my answer is just like Coach Sherman's was in his locker room speech from last year: HELL YEAH!
I cannot even begin to explain to you how excited I am about the opportunity to come alongside the rest of the staff at TexAgs and bring you the best Texas A&M sports coverage out there. Period!
Let me start off by saying that the build-up to this football season is driving me crazy! I have never been more excited about the state of the Texas A&M football program than I am today. Last season, I made a post about Coach Sherman and why I thought he had us going in the right direction. He is building a foundation for our program that is based on not only talent, but hard-work, trust and character. Those same attributes are just a few of the reasons why I am joining TexAgs.
Over the past few weeks in my preparation for this role, I have been getting a chance to learn more about the behind the scenes work that goes on with the team at TexAgs, as well as spend some time with all the staff. I have been so impressed with the character of everybody and it is such a blessing to work with such great people, and for your work to be covering sports for the best university in world! On top of the character, the overall effort and passion that this staff brings to work everyday is amazing. It is very easy to see why TexAgs is what it is today, and I am very humbled to have the opportunity to partner with them and help continue to bring you the best in Texas A&M sports coverage. You all will be very excited about some of the things coming up in the near future, and with that being said let me give you a quick tidbit about what my role will look like.
The rest of this summer leading up to football season, I am going to hit the ground running on recruiting coverage. I am here in College Station now and we will be at the state 7-on-7 tournament this week. I will be meeting some of our current commits as well as getting to know some of our other targets for this year and 2013 (I guess I can say "our" and "us" since I played but I'm confused now that I'm media … haha). I will get a chance to see a lot of them in action and will be bringing you some analysis on their performances. While at the tourney, I am also going to be following Billy and Logan in the process and learning as much as I can from them.
Throughout the rest of the summer, I will be calling out to recruits and bringing you updates, working on some other great material that will be posted later, attending camp this weekend with Billy and so much more. We are still finalizing some of my duties for the actual football season, but it will be all about bringing you the best coverage of A&M football and recruiting.
I can talk all day about how excited I am about this opportunity, but I wanted to thank you all for making TexAgs the best college sports website in the nation. I am so thankful to have had the chance to play football for Texas A&M and attend this amazing university! The fact that I can say I am an Aggie is such a blessing, and now getting to work for TexAgs and for you all is just icing on the cake! This is going to be such a fun year, and I promise to work as hard as I can to continue to make TexAgs the best college sports community in the country. Get ready for some great coverage this weekend and beyond!
Gig 'Em,
Brandon Leone
