Texas A&M stumbles in final minutes in 72-67 loss to Vanderbilt

February 16, 2017

As has been the case so often, Texas A&M faltered offensively when it mattered most and suffered a 72-67 Southeastern Conference basketball loss to Vanderbilt Thursday night in Nashville.

The Aggies forged a 65-65 tie on a Tonny Trocha-Morelos mid-lane jumper with 4:17 to play, but managed only two Tyler Davis free throws from there.

A&M, which had lost in its three previous trips to Memorial Gym, trailed by just three in the final minute, but Admon Gilder’s attempted driving layup was blocked by Vanderbilt’s Luke Kornet with 47 seconds left.
