No, not that eroding 10-team conference. Rather, we’re looking at the dozen teams in Power Five conferences that are still in the national championship hunt.
History has shown that a team can get into the College Football Playoff with one loss. History also indicates that the CFP field will consist of teams from the ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and … well, yes, even the Big 12.
