Breakdown: How the Aggie defense excels in short-yardage situations

Short-yardage defense might be the one aspect of team defense that gets taken for granted more than any other. There doesn’t seem to be a true secret to stopping a team on a key third- or fourth-and-short, but on every stop there does appear to be one consistent theme.

In the matchup with UCLA, the Aggies held relatively firm in the first half, giving up only three field goals.
