Key notes from Jason Cook's comments
- The Texas A&M Athletic Department is a great entity that is known for putting out a great game product that is ready for football season.
- Texas A&M sold a record amount of sports passes this year. The athletic department will do everything it can to accommodate all students who want to attend a game. There are still tickets available for the UCLA game.
- Myles Garrett is special. He is different than any player we have ever had. There are so many levels to his personality. Everyone wants to talk to him. The challenge is holding him back and not overexposing him. He is a once in a lifetime talent.
- There are some great guys on this football team. There has been an evolution on this team over the past few years in the character of guys that are being recruited.
- Clear bags for all athletic events this season. There are size restrictions and they have to be 12x6x12 or smaller. These bags hold more than expected so they will be very functional. Many other schools are moving to the clear bag policy, and it will be a conference-wide policy soon. All information can be found at www.12thman.com/beclear.
- A&M has been able to sell 1,000 more men’s basketball season tickets than we have last season. Sitting at about 4500 season tickets coming into this season. We are trying to push to get to 5,000 season tickets.
- The 12th Man Ticket Experience is a package that pairs the UTSA football game along with a multitude of fall sports to allow families and fans. The package is $99 for 12 events, including the UTSA football game. Aggie fans can sign up at www.12thman.com/tickets.
- The end zones will read “Texas A&M” and the reasoning for that is to promote the name of the university. In terms of new experiences, Victory Street will be slight different. The Fan Zone will be bigger and better. In stadium there will be some outside concession partners that will be coming in.
- Stepping up and handling problems is a key characteristic in the Texas A&M Athletic Department. Coach Sumlin has done a great job in taking responsibility and handling issues by responding properly.
- Texas A&M is a big player in college athletics. Brands are made and improve over moments in time and we will keep moving forward as an athletic department and a university.
