Key notes from Andy Staples' comments
- Texas A&M’s lineup is stacked top to bottom. The issue is that you don’t know what you are going to get out of your quarterback. If Trevor Knight is good this year, everything around him will be elevated as well.
- Scott Woodward said that 8-5 is not good enough. That is a bold statement for an athletic director to come out and make.
- The
‘if you aren’t first, you are last’ mentality is legitimate thing in
the SEC. The longer that Alabama continues to dominate, the more
coaches in the SEC will be fired.
- Trevor Knight will be a folk hero in Aggieland if he can put together a good year. You always remember the quarterbacks who beat Alabama. If you get the Trevor Knight who beat Alabama, Texas A&M will be successful this season.
- Trevor Knight will need to be good against UCLA, due to the history between Mazzone and UCLA. What Noel Mazzone does with Knight will be similar to what he did with Brett Hundley.
- College Football Playoff teams: Florida State, Alabama, Stanford, and Michigan
- Heisman Top Three: Deshaun Watson, Christian McCaffery, and Leonard Fournette
- Surprise team in college football: Texas (if they can put it together)
- Biggest step back: Ole Miss
