Raquan Mitchell picked up a basketball for the first time.
Growing up, the 6-2.5, 185-pound athlete played football and ran track. It wasn't until the urging from friends to play pick-up basketball in the summer of 2012 until Mitchell took to the hard court.
"I played football. I didn't start playing basketball until the summer before my 10th grade year," he said. "I had a friend who asked me to come play with some friends and I told him I didn't know how to play. I liked the game and played it for fun."
