I've known Kevin Sumlin for 15 years and can tell you with certainty that the fourth-year Texas A&M football coach believes he's got a much better team than people think heading into the season.

I felt that way heading to Hoover and nothing about what he said, his demeanor or the tone of his message convinced me otherwise.

Word I've heard from Bright throughout the offseason is that Sumlin is thrilled with the new hires (he sounds positively giddy about John Chavis and mentioned Dave Christensen several times during SEC Media Days), loves the veteran talent he has coming back and knows the schedule works in the Ags' favor.
