Ready to Roll: Jake Spavital embracing the path that lies ahead

Jake Spavital got married in Houston on Saturday.
He was back at work as Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator on Monday.
What? No honeymoon?
Actually, the honeymoon for Spavital ended during a three-game stretch last football season when receivers were plagued by drops against Mississippi State, the running game couldn’t get out of neutral against Ole Miss and the offense was generally inept in a 59-0 loss to Alabama.
Suddenly, there were questions whether the 30-year-old Spavital, once considered an Air Raid prodigy, was too young and inexperienced to handle the play-calling responsibilities for a major college football program like Texas A&M.
