Measured optimism characterizes SECMD14's second day

HOOVER, Ala. — Two years ago Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin stood at the dais in the Wynfrey Hotel and was asked about his realistic expectations for competing in the Southeastern Conference.

“We expect to win,” he said.

Those expectations haven’t changed, even in what some might consider a rebuilding year.

“We have our own expectations,” Sumlin said on Tuesday afternoon. “We have to because (in) year one nobody expected anything out of us.
