Aggie stars bring instant-impact potential to NFL teams

NEW YORK CITY — The trio of Texas A&M players taken in the first round of Thursday night’s NFL Draft project to make immediate impacts for the franchises that picked them.

Quarterback Johnny Manziel, wide receiver Mike Evans and offensive tackle Jake Matthews all fill major needs for their teams.

Matthews was taken sixth by the Atlanta Falcons, who have underachieved in recent seasons and need to provide better protection for quarterback Matt Ryan.
