After picking up an offer from A&M to go along with with early offers from Baylor and Texas, Mayden didn't seem to care if any more came his way. Actually, he felt more than comfortable with all three options depending on the timing. While Texas jumped out of the gate strong with the old staff, any progress with Mayden was soon lost shortly after it departed — especially Duane Akina, who Mayden really had grown to like.
