The Latest: 2015 Diamond Bar WR Cordell Broadus

Don’t let the family name fool you. Broadus, son of famous rapper Snoop Dogg, is creating a name for himself as a college football prospect. Snoop Dogg began coaching Broadus when he was six years old and has continued to do so for ten years now.

Broadus stands close to 6-3, 190 pounds and has received offers from some of the top schools in the nation. Having a famous father created exposure, but his talents on the field have made this young receiver rise up in the ranks in the 2015 class.

On what he thinks makes him such a highly wanted wide receiver...

"I think it’s my size, my speed, the way I can adjust to the ball, come back to the ball, get in and out of my routes, and just overall being an athlete. Also I maintain good grades, because academics are very important."

On what he wants to study in school...

"I’m looking to major in business, or I might want to be a doctor. It’s going to be tough, but you have to have the dedication and be willing to even out school and sports."

On his parents influence in his football career...

"My parents have been a big influence in my football career. They have always supported me, and have always been there for me. They’ve also always been there for me when it comes to getting me trainers, or getting me therapy if I’m hurt. They’ve always tried to make me the best that I can be. They want to see me become a successful man by staying hungry and not slacking off."

On his current offers...

"I have offers from USC, Washington, Arizona State, Oregon, Cal, Duke, San Jose State, Tennessee and UCLA. I just got an offer from LSU today."

On spring football...

"We don’t have a spring game. We don’t do that out here. As far as the spring goes, we have just been out here working, seeing what we need to improve on, getting after it everyday, and not slacking off."

On what he’s looking to improve on this summer...

"Everyone needs improvement, but what I think I need to improve on is my speed. I want to be faster. I’m clocking about a 4.5 40 but I want to get it to a 4.4 by the end of this year."

On what camps he’s planning on attending this summer...

"I’m going to Clemson, LSU, UCLA, and probably Alabama."

On whether he’s talked to anyone from Texas A&M...

"Yes I talked to Coach (Jeff) Banks about two weeks ago, and they said A&M is very interested in me but they don’t offer sophomores. I’m just happy and thankful that they’re interested in me."

On whether he’s ever been to A&M...

"No, but I did go to San Antonio once. I was up there for the Army All-American Bowl. I did the combine this year, and I think I did pretty good."

On his top three schools...

"I would have to go with Notre Dame, LSU and UCLA."

On the timetable as to when he wants to commit...
"I’m not committing until February 2015."
