SEC anticipates bright future for announced network

On Thursday in Atlanta, Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive and officials from ESPN announced plans to launch the SEC Network.
The cable television channel, which is scheduled to launch in August of 2014, will be available nationwide and will include athletic events, replays of classic games and other original programming.
The SEC Network will air three SEC football games every week during the season. More SEC games will still appear on other networks.
