Around Texas: A round-up of recruiting news in the Lone Star State
Around the state of Texas, decisions are being made, visits are being taken, and offers are being extended as the regular season has now kicked off. It is time to take a look at the latest happenings on the Lone Star state recruiting front.
A few quick notes
I was at Southlake Carroll tonight for the Dragons' spring game. I got a good look at new 2020 TE offer Blake Smith. He worked at both QB and TE tonight and he is a big target for young QB Quinn Ewers. The Aggies seem to be in a good spot in this one coming off the visit and offer. His next step is to figure out a few visits and he will go from there. He is talking about possibly graduating early and he does plan to make his college decision before the start of the season.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/11288495896484167702020 OL Andrej Karic was also an impressive prospect. He has always had a big frame but he has been on the skinny side. He is now up to 255 with room for more on his frame and it is easy to see the potential. He is light on his feet and he plays with a nasty streak. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/11288509504232325172022 QB Quinn Ewers threw the ball well tonight. He has the tools college coaches drool over. He threw the ball with zip and accuracy and I have a feeling he will be fun to watch this fall. He plans to camp at Texas A&M, Texas, and USC this summer. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1128852034248151040

Last week Houston got the nod for game of the week, this week it's time for DFW to shine. There were plenty of top games to choose from, but Colleyville Heritage at Southlake Carroll on Friday night won us over.
