How about some more recruiting news and notes?
I caught up with a few people and it sounds like the Aggies made a big impression on the young Bishop Dunne crew. 2020 LB Brennon Scott already holds an offer from the Aggies and I was told coach Fisher, the facilities, the campus, the distance from home were things that caught his attention about the A&M program. It sounds like the Aggies really put themselves in a good position early on in this recruitment. Also keep an eye on 2020 RB/ATH Jaden Hullaby. He had a good conversation with coach Fisher. He's a big, versatile back, and he is already drawing the attention of SEC programs. It sounds like he caught the Aggies' eye this weekend. At QB, Cedar Hill 2019 Shayne Lawrence is a guy who is seeing his stock rise this offseason. He's a big guy who definitely looks the part, and he can put the ball out there too. He was able to sit down with coach Dickey and talk about the offense and where he fits in. Lawrence does have some A&M ties too, his sister Donique Flemings ran the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, and the 4x4, and was part of national titles in 2008 and 2009. His sister Lyric Lawrence also ran track at Texas A&M. His mom, dad, both sisters and two nieces made the trip with him. Allen QB Grant Tisdale also had a nice time on campus. He got some one-on-one time with coach Dickey as well and the Aggies let him know they plan to check him out this spring. Yesterday was the first time Branson Bragg really had a chance to check out the A&M campus and facilities and he described what he saw as "second to none". He liked that coach Schmidt came from OU to A&M. He was able to sit down and speak with coach Turner. Turner let him know he wanted Bragg to be his next great center. Genuine was a word that kept coming up when he talked about coach Fisher and coach Turner. Right now he does not have a decision timetable, and he named a top 4 of Texas, Texas A&M, Stanford, and Arkansas and Oklahoma State in there too. He will visit Stanford next week, and plans to visit Texas in the spring, and he wants to visit Arkansas and Oklahoma State. He made the trip to A&M with his dad and grandfather. His dad, who is a Texas fan, told the coaches he was really impressed with what he saw. Bragg did say his dad has not let the fan part of him impact Bragg's decision making as they go through the recruiting process. The engineering department, the proximity to home, and College Station as a town were things Bragg mentioned that helped Texas A&M standout in his mind. We'll have more from Bragg later.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
